The AI Toolkit That Helps Me Do More in Less Time
- anne gould
You know the old adage about people being busier when they retire than they were at work?
Back in May I stepped down from my business to do “more creative” work - in other words edit my documentary and write a novel - which has somehow morphed back into more work.
I'm writing this at 7am on what could have been a completely overwhelming Tuesday.
I had about 2-3 days worth of tasks jumbled in my ADHD brain, a Facebook ads training at 5 PM, client video editing and that familiar feeling of "How am I going to get all this done?”
Then I remembered I could just ask my AI assistant to help me organise it all.
Here are 3 AI productivity hacks I'm actually using right now:
1. Claude Can Create Real Reminders on Your Phone.
This blew my mind yesterday. I was planning my day with Claude, and instead of just getting a schedule, I asked it to send the key tasks to my iPhone's reminder app. It worked perfectly - and works on Android too.
I now have "Exercise (1 hour) - Non-negotiable brain fuel" set to remind me at 7:30 AM with a note that says "This is brain fuel for the whole day!”
No more copying and pasting schedules or hoping I'll remember.
The AI puts it straight into my notification system - and if you set up your alerts you can even get sound reminders as well.
Try This Exact Prompt:
"I have [list your 3-5 main tasks for today]. Can you help me prioritise these and create reminders on my phone for the most important ones?
I work best when [mention your work style]. Also, I tend to hyperfocus and forget basic needs - can you include reminders for meals and water?”
ADHD Bonus: These "human maintenance" reminders often matter more than the work ones. My brain works better when my body is actually fuelled.
2. Perplexity Pro FREE Annual Deal (PayPal Users Only)
If you're using Perplexity as an alternative to ChatGPT they're running a limited-time offer through PayPal for their Pro annual plan.
I've been using Perplexity for quick research that doesn't need the full Claude treatment - market data, competitor analysis, current trends.
The Pro version gives you unlimited Claude-3.5 and GPT-4 queries, plus image analysis. Worth checking.
3. HOW TO MAKE CONTENT VIDEOS FAST.
Sometimes I need to make content videos quickly for courses and find myself with too much work and too little time.
I always know what I want to say but when there are two or three videos to make your brain can go into overdrive.
What helps is to get ai to help.
When I need to create detailed content (like courses or client work), I don't ask Claude to just "write me a script."
Instead, I feed it specific context: transcripts from workshops, slides from previous courses, notes from client calls, my existing frameworks, the exact audience pain points I'm addressing, the methodology I am following and a detailed prompt.
The magic happens when you give AI the raw materials and structure, not when you ask it to create from nothing. You then have a script you can edit and record from straight off the bat.
I will record using an app called Teleprompter Premium on my phone and then add B-roll, slides etc in the edit.
The Real Insight
I'm 68, supposed to be "retired," but I'm busier than ever learning Facebook ads, creating AI courses, building ai apps/automations and helping clients.
The old me would have felt guilty about not doing everything myself.
The new me realizes that if AI can handle the organising, scheduling, and structuring, I can focus on the creative work and client relationships that actually matter.
What AI tool has surprised you lately? Hit reply and let me know.
Best wishes, Anne.
P.S. If you want to see exactly how I use Claude for daily planning with ADHD, I'm thinking of doing a short screen-share video. Would that be useful?
